Christopher R. Adam, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist. He specializes in the comprehensive medical and surgical management of diseases affecting the retina, macula, and vitreous. Born and raised on Long Island, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stony Brook University. After beginning his career in finance, Dr. Adam transitioned into healthcare, working as a radiologic technologist while completing his pre-medical studies.

Dr. Adam received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in 2014. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York. Pursuing advanced subspecialty training, he completed a rigorous two-year medical and surgical vitreoretinal fellowship at the prestigious Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Adam has contributed to numerous clinical research studies, authored peer-reviewed publications, and presented his work at national scientific meetings. Dr. Adam holds membership in the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Society of Retinal Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association.

The whole office is wonderful, from the front desk people, to the testing technician, to the photographer, and finally Dr. Adam. They explain everything as they do it, and they make you feel at ease. This was my first visit here, and I have to follow up every 6 months. I'm glad I found this medical group for eyecare.

I have been a patient of Dr Adam for 3 years and followed him from his old practice OCLI to new practice VRC... Dr Adam has always been professional explain the details of my macular degeneration and details of administing the eye injection. I wouldn't trust my eyes to anyone else. I followed Dr. Adam from his previous practice to Vitreoretinal Consultants. He is thorough, focused, and an excellent doctor. He answers any questions I have, and is reassuring. I get an injection in my eye, which is a scary experience, but I know I am in the best of hands. The VRC office is clean, and the clinical and administrative staff are professional and efficient.
