Christopher R. Adam, MD

VRC welcomes Christopher Adam, MD on June 1st!
Christopher R. Adam, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist. He specializes in the comprehensive medical and surgical management of diseases affecting the retina, macula, and vitreous. Born and raised on Long Island, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stony Brook University. After beginning his career in finance, Dr. Adam transitioned into healthcare, working as a radiologic technologist while completing his pre-medical studies.
Dr. Adam received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in 2014. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York. Pursuing advanced subspecialty training, he completed a rigorous two-year medical and surgical vitreoretinal fellowship at the prestigious Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Adam has contributed to numerous clinical research studies, authored peer-reviewed publications, and presented his work at national scientific meetings. Dr. Adam holds membership in the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Society of Retinal Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association.
