Eric P. Shakin, MDDr. Shakin earned his Bachelors of Arts and Sciences from Cornell University and received his M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Dr. Shakin completed his residency in ophthalmology, and a vitreo-retinal fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. After his training, he was a member of the Retina Service at Wills Eye Hospital , and served there as co-director of the visual physiology department until 1995. He was also clinical assistant professor at the Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine. Dr. Shakin joined LI/Queens Vitreo-Retinal Consultants in 1995.
Dr. Shakin is a member of the American Medical Association, Medical Society of New York, Queens Medical Society, New York State Ophthalmology Society, and the Long Island Ophthalmologic Society.
